Skin Needling-Pre-Care & After Care

PRE-CARE

  • Remember to start your Anti-Viral 1 day prior to your appt. and continue for 6 days after. (Contact your PCP)
  • Skin Needling will NOT be performed if you are pregnant, nursing, going through IVF, harvesting eggs or trying to get pregnant. 
  • DO NOT WEAR ANY MAKEUP OR MASCARA  TO APPOINTMENT
  • The area to be treated must be free of any active acne, cold sore, pimples or infection. (Anti-virals are required for areas around the mouth)
  • Make sure to schedule when you have 3-5 days of down time.
  • The area to be treated will be cleansed with a medical grade cleanser prior to applying the numbing cream.
  • NO SUN OR TANNING 30 DAYS PRIOR AND NO SUN OR TANNING FOR 30-90 DAYS AFTER 
  • The treated area  CAN/WILL be very red the 1st 48hrs and will gradually lighten with each following day and will feel like a sun burn.

  • Itchiness and tenderness will be present during the healing process.




     THERE IS NO GUARANTEED TIME FRAME ON EACH CLIENTS HEALING TIME.  THIS VARIES PERSON TO PERSON.

AFTER CARE

  • DO NOT ICE
  • A gentle wash & moisturizer may be used to keep the area moist. (Nothing with acids or retinols)
  • It is recommended to apply a gentle moisturizer or hyaluronic acid (HA) after the procedure for hydration.
  • It is recommended to wash your face several times after the procedure with a gentle cleanser.(3-4 times a day) using luke warm water.
  • NO creams with acids or retinol for 2 weeks after the procedure on the treated areas.
  • The area may shed/flake after a couple days revealing new pink skin. (varies person to person) Do NOT PICK!
  • Healing is rapid and the results will be visible in just a few short weeks and continue to improve over months.
  • You can continue to use your skin care regimen(after 2 weeks) and apply makeup when needed.
  •  New makeup is recommended!
  • No sun exposure at all for 30-90 days.

Stretch Marks

Stretch marks are the result of the deeper collagen layers of the skin stretching beyond its normal limits. Skin Needling has been a more effective way to minimize the appearance of the stretch marks, where lasers and other creams have very little positive results...the dermal damage that is performed to the area will allow your own collagen, elastin and your natural melanocytes to begin the repair by improving the blood supply to the treated area. Though the stretch mark will never return to it's normal state..there will be significant improvement and the healing period (repair) will continue up to a year. This procedure can be performed as often as every 6 weeks...and all skin types
are candidates.

"I cant believe how my face looks. I had a two tone "age/sun" spot at 43, and I went to my dermatologist, he said that due to it being two tone, he would recommend a fade cream but would not guarantee that it could fade or remove both colors. If I stopped the cream the spot could/would come back. I met Mary and had less than 10 minutes of the skin needling, which sounds terrible, but, is completely painless!! Within 1 week both colors of the discoloration were gone and replaced with pink healthy skin that is very quickly becoming the same color as my normal complexion. DOG BITE-15 YEAR OLD (ABOVE PIC)

This young lady was referred to me for a dog bite to the mouth.  I did 2 sessions of skin needling 6 weeks apart.  She was young and had youth on her side so her collagen production was amazing.  

After 4 months, I went in with a lip color to match her natural lip color as close as possible.  


Being a minor,  I had her father and grandmother authorize and give consent for these procedures.  I did this young lady at no charge.
